Dear Mrs Love

Your parents

I see you have been asked by your family to contact a Solicitor and find out what needs to be done to help Mum and Dad now they are getting a little frail and forgetful..

There are several things you need to consider. I suggest you start by following the links on our website to Making a Will and Lasting Powers of Attorney. If you think it might be relevant, you might find our notes on Funding Elderly Care some help.

It is always much better if Mum and Dad are able to tackle these issues themselves while they are able to, but if they have left it too late, I can advise you about The Court of Protection.

I agree that it is far better to act before there is a crisis. A good starting point would be to arrange for me or my colleague, Alex Davies, to meet Mum and Dad.
